Hungary positive for Europe
Viktor Orban is ousted by the people after 16 years in power as Magyar wins the elections.
Magyar is president of the Tisza Party and expected to become the Prime Minister of Hungary, he won two thirds of the seats in the election with 79% of voters taking part.
He identifies himself as pro-european conservative liberal and has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014.
He once worked for the Government but resigned due to his unsatisfaction with how the Government was running the country and has been outspoken about his views.
He set up his own opposition party in 2024 and later that year gained 30% of the votes in the European Parliaments Elections.
In April 2024 he organised a demonstration citing what he called a “feudalistic system” that needs dismantling.

Magyar told cheering thousands of supporters along the embankment by the river Danube.
One Million Steps
In response to a speech made by Orban in May 2025, Magya declared the “One Million Steps” initiative to walk from Budapest to Oradea, linking Hungary with Transylvania. He completed the walk and delivered a speech at the Ordaea Fortress.
Strengthing ties with the EU
The incoming Prime Minister said Europe must be able to defend itself, urging the importance of strong nations and a functioning EU.
He has also expressed support for adopting the Euro for financial benefits and stability for Hungary.
