About us
Dorset for Europe is a group of ordinary people from Dorset who believe the future of the UK and its people would be brighter as part of the EU.
The seeds of our group were sown in 2016 at a ‘More in Common/Hope not Hate’ event in Bournemouth following the murder of MP Jo Cox during the referendum campaign.
Our members are of all ages and come from diverse backgrounds. We are totally cross party, with our members supporting Labour, the Liberal Democrats, the Green Party, the Conservatives, or with no political preferences.
Over the past few years, we have organised in-person and webinar speaker events with key pro-EU campaigners, including A C Grayling, Femi Oluwole, Andrew Adonis, Molly Scott Cato and Mike Galsworthy.
Our members campaign at street stall events, often with like-minded groups, for example Make Votes Matter, and we have a regular programme of social events, including our monthly Eurocafés.
